recycling project
This was a truly eventful day. A day prior to the collection, students gathered used boxes and labeled them with a sheet of paper that said, "Paper only." They arrived at school very early in order to leave the boxes in all of the classrooms within the school so that the teachers and students would dump all their unwanted papers into those containers to be recycled. The next day, the student volunteers broke into group and went around to collect the papers. They were weighed on a scale before being rolled out into the garbage area. There, they loaded the one garbage container reserved for paper with hopes that the city will continue their work and recycle. On that day, Students in Action managed to collect over 1000 pounds of paper to be recycled! All thanks to the teachers and students in our school who participated. Looks like PHHS is helping the Earth one sheet of paper at a time.
